A vibrant gem in the heart of Steel City

Pittsburgh has long had a serious reputation, which is why Kimpton Hotels wanted to bring in Monaco, its most fearless, light-hearted brand. Our challenge: to create interiors that embodied Monaco’s playful aesthetic yet felt authentic to the building’s 1902 Beaux-Arts exterior (formerly home to Reed Smith law firm and the Duquesne Light Company). Our solution: to bring the region’s rich history to life through bold colors, materials and artwork, transforming the hotel into the city’s very own statement piece.
