Spanish Revival on the Santa Barbara coast

This landmark beachfront hotel first opened with great fanfare in 1931, but lost much of its character over time. By focusing on the details, we united the hotel’s original Spanish Colonial architecture with the many disparate styles it had acquired over the years, giving it back its soul, charm and relevance. Today, guests can marvel at its grand staircase, updated porte cochère and bathrooms, and hints of Spanish Revival and Moorish influence throughout the guest rooms.
